Mr. Chong has been an intellectual property and patent attorney for over 37 years, specializing in electronics, computers, software, IT, and e-commerce. He is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent Office, and a licensed attorney in New York and Hawaii. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Yale University, and Juris Doctor degree at Boston University School of Law. He was a founding partner of the intellectual property law firm of Ostrager Chong Flaherty & Broitman, NYC, to which he remains Of Counsel and heads its Hawaii office. He continues to practice intellectual property and patent law in Hawaii, working with technology companies particularly in the renewable energy field.
His other interests include travel, history, poetry, and family genealogies. In 2008 he took a two-month long trip around the world and, with inspiration from Pat Takahashi, author of "Simple Solutions for Humanity" and "...for Planet Earth", he is now working on a book on a related theme of planetary exploration.
