Mr. Chong has been an intellectual property and patent attorney covering a wide range of technologies over four decades. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Yale University, and Juris Doctor degree at Boston University School of Law. He was a founding partner of the intellectual property law firm of Ostrager Chong Flaherty & Broitman, NYC, to which he remains Of Counsel and heads its Hawaii office. He continues to practice intellectual property and patent law in Hawaii, working with technology companies particularly in the renewable energy field.
His other interests include travel, history, poetry, and family genealogies. In 2008 he took a two-month long trip around the world, seeing the planet as a whole for the first time. A travel diary he kept of the trip became the inspiration for him to write his book, "Song of Planet Earth," which has been recently released.
